Viewing by month: February 2011

February 7, 2011 Program

The program was presented by new member Mike Chase who introduced himself.  Mike grew up in Morris and graduated from Morris Central School, playing sports under the guidance of Coach John Shackelton.  After a stint working in construction in Plano, TX, he returned to New York State in the auto service business in Syracuse, eventually becoming a factory rep for Gates Rubber Company.  He served customers over a wide territory for 10 years before leaving to company to start his own business.  He now operates The Trophy Guy, a trophy and corporate awards firm in Norwich.  This latest move allowed him to watch his kids grow and succeed in the Morris school system. Now both boys are in college.  Morris Rotarians particularly enjoyed thumbing through Mike’s decades-old MCS yearbook to see how he and his classmates have changed.
