Hurricane Sandy Aid
The Morris Rotary Club wasted no time is coming to the aid of the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Treasurer Mike Virgil met with Toni Christensen at the American Red Cross office in Cooperstown to deliver the club's donation.
Annual Holiday Food Gifts
Members of the Morris Rotary Club will again be delivering holiday food baskets to families who have fallen on hard times. The Rotarians will also present small gifts of fruit to seniors in the Butternut Valley. The delivery lists are now being formed. Rotarian Patrick Pegg is chairing the organizing committee. Delivery suggestions can be forwarded to Pegg or to Rotarians Royce Webster, James Pasternak, or Fred Johnson. Deliveries will be made on Saturday, December 15. Individuals and organizations desiring to help fund this major project can send contributions to the Morris Rotary Club, P. O. Box 414, Morris, NY 13808.
Boy Scout Presentations
Members of the Morris Boy Scout troop made presentations to the Morris Rotary Club about several historic buildings in the community. Their talks and related PowerPoint pictures met the requirements for the scout's merit badges. Jacob Walling (left) gave a history of the Episcopal Church while Nate Edwards (center) cronicled the Morris Central School district from the construction of the original building to the present and Benjamin Child reviewed the Baptist Church. The boys appeared with Scoutmaster Mike Walling and their project advisor Joanne Long. The Morris Rotary Club chartered the local troop.
