Pork Roast Dinner
Morris Rotary's annual Roast Pork Dinner in Guy Rathbun Park was a huge success. All proceeds helped support Morris Scouting programs.
Off On A Great Adventure
Taylor (center), a 2013 graduate of Gilbertsville-Mount Upton Central School, will represent the Moriis Rotary Club in Southeast Asia this year. She has departed for a year of study in Thailand as one of District 7170's 30 outbound exchange students. Here Taylor gets the best wishes of her friend Brooke and Morris Rotarian Jim Pasternak at her send-off party. Students' last names are omitted to comply with current US State Department regulations.
Coming And Going
Mid-summer is a time for traveling ... and that's particularly true for exchange students in the Butternut Valley. Morris Rotarians used their first meeting in August to welcome home Emily Steckline (left) from a year in Bolivia. She will leave in a few days to start her freshman year at SUNY Potsdam. At the same time, Mauritia Hammersen (right) was savoring her final days in the USA. After spending the year attending Gilbertsville-Mount Upton Central School, she will be returning to Germany. President Matt Sheldon congratulated both ladies on their very successful service to Rotary's Youth Exchange Program, celebrating its 50th year in New York's Southern Tier.
