Planning For Emergencies

The Morris Rotary Club recently contributed to the Shelter Box Project to help prepare for worldwide natural diseasters.  Each box contains housing, cooking utensils, and other necessities to support a family in an emergency situation. Past District Governor Sam Koury, a major promoter of the Shetler Box project, accepts the club's donation from President Matt Sheldon.

2013-2014 Leadership Team

The Morris Rotary Club inducted new offiers at the club's annual Pass-The-Gavel Picnic.  Despite a persistent rain, the picnic was hosted by Carol & Steve Phelps who made it a festive occasion.  The incoming president will be Matt Sheldon and Carolyn Pasternak will serve a President-elect of the 35-member service club.  They will serve until June 30, 2014.

A Taste! A Toast!

Rick Bennett of Rustic Ridge Winery stopped by to tell Morris Rotarians about his popular stop along the Cooperstown Beverage Trail.  Rick and Laura operate their vineyard and winery on the Bennett family farm outside Burlington Flats.  He brought along six of the 17 Rustic Ridge varieties for a tasting.  The winery is open 7 days a week and the Bennetts encourage visitors stop by to enjoy the rural country atmosphere.  And remember to bring along a picnic lunch.  The picnic tables and tent (capacity 40) at Rustic Ridge are available for special events.  Check out their website at www.rusticridgewinery.com.
